Mandatory Uniform Policy

 Please use the information below to prepare for the 2024-2025 school year:

Main Uniform Piece

Requirements/Descriptions

Uniform Bottoms
shorts, pants, skirts, capris 

No bulky  cargo pockets or athletic bottoms (basketball shorts, yoga pants, leggings, or sweats)

SOLID COLOR only in Navy Blue, Khaki, Black, or Gray
*solid-colored tights or leggings may be worn under dresses/skirts

*Shorts, skirts, & dress lengths must be at least to length of fingertips at all times

*Must be worn at waist

Uniform Tops

SOLID COLOR only for short or long-sleeved collared polo shirts, button-down collared shirts/blouses, or turtle neck shirts. 
The Diplomat Bobcat logo or a small brand logo/brand-name 

symbol is permissible (ie: Nike, Adidas, etc)

* On “T-SHIRT TUESDAYS '' & “SPIRIT SHIRT FRIDAYS '',

Diplomat T-shirts issued or purchased from the school or online school store are 

permitted to be worn with UNIFORM bottoms.

Jackets, Sweaters, or Cardigans

Jackets, cardigans, and/or sweaters worn on a normal basis

regardless of weather, must be a solid color.  

Label with student’s first and last name.

Dresses

SOLID COLOR dresses or jumpers may be worn

*Length must be at least to length of fingertips at all times

Shoes

Shoes are required to be closed-toe and have a solid back.  Sneakers are recommended and socks are required. Students need shoes they can safely run and play in.  Crocs or boots should not be worn.

Accessories

  • Acrylic, artificial, or press-on nails are not permitted due to safety and distractions
  • Hats, sunglasses, scarves, hoodies, and gloves are only permitted outside and as appropriate for weather
  • Large earrings, excessive jewelry, and ear gauging  is not permitted for safety re
  • Writing, tattoos, or body stickers on face, arms, hands, legs is not permitted. Writing on clothing is not permitted
  • Bows and regular headbands are allowable, but distracting and/or animated headbands are not permitted
  • Smart Watches are not permitted; please see planner/Student Handbook regarding these
  • Distracting or excessive make-up is not permitted

Cold-Weather Wear

  (For a Forecast High of 65 Degrees or below)

  • Jeans or sweatpants may be allowed.  No holes, rips, or tears.  
  •  Jackets/Sweaters/Sweatshirts are not required to be solid colored on these days, but must be elementary school appropriate.

Out of Uniform Fundraiser Dates (For a $1.00 donation, students may be out of uniform): 9/6, 10/4, 11/1, 12/6, 1/10, 4/4, 5/2

Upstander Dates (Solid orange tee/polo or D.E.S. Upstander Shirt & uniform bottom): 9/27, 10/25, 11/22, 12/20, 1/31, 2/28, 3/28, 4/25

*No clothing is permitted to have holes, rips, or tears in regular uniform OR on dress-down days.

*When a student is out of uniform, parents will be notified and asked to bring uniform attire to the office. Any article of clothing, 

jewelry or accessory, which in the judgment of school administration is a distraction or hindrance to classroom learning and/or 

activities or poses a safety hazard, can be forbidden at the discretion of administration without prior warning.

*All uniform schools allow white polo-style shirts with navy-blue or khaki shorts or pants.  You may want to have those 

items in case you move schools within the school year.
