Morning Drop Off Rules & Procedures
8:30 a.m. - 8:55 a.m.
Morning drop off begins at 8:30 A.M. If you need to drop off your child prior to 8:30 A.M. please register then for our fee-based Dawn to Dusk child care program as there is no school-based supervision before this time and students may not be left unattended. All morning drop-off takes place in the front parking lot along the drive by the front office. Drop-off entrance is located on NE 12th Pl. Please do not drop off on the road or the unsupervised staff parking lot.
When dropping off a student, please pull as close as possible to the car in front of you so we can speed up the unloading process. Staff & School Safety Patrols will open and close car doors and assist students, so you don’t need to get out of your car. If you need to come into the office, please use the staff lot entrance located on NE 16th Ter.
If everyone follows procedures the line will move quickly and we will create a safer situation for children and drivers.
Afternoon Pick Up Rules & Procedures
3:10 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
During the first week of school you will be issued a hang-tag for your rear-view mirror. Teachers will use this to call your child’s name and your child will then come to you. Always stay in line and do not leave your car. If the hang tag is not present, you will need to park, come to the office door, and present I.D. We will then cross-check the I.D. against the names on the emergency card, only releasing that student when there is a match.
There are two lines for parent, K-1 at Staff Parking area and 2-5 Main Campus Entry. There first cars should start lining up only a few minutes before dismissal. All traffic needs to stay on the right (legal) side of the street. Please do not pull out of line to pass cars in front of you, thereby pulling in the lane of oncoming traffic. Please be patient and wait in line. All parents should remain in their cars at all times.
Aside from the first days of school when we are all getting used to the procedures, pick-up usually ends at 3:30. Students not picked up by this time will be brought into the office and parents will be contacted. Parents will need to come up to the door and show I.D. upon arrival.
