We are fortunate to have a full-time Network Support Specialist to keep our vast array of technology equipment up-to-date and working properly. To enhance teaching, every classroom is equipped with at least four student station computers. Classroom computers, laser disc players, LCD panels, and CD-Roms are used on a daily basis in our classrooms. Our local area network provides services to 325 computers, including printing, e-mail, and file-sharing. At Diplomat the software on the desktop is only part of the computing picture. The local area network allows for students and staff to communicate, collaborate, access a wide range of software, and manage student records. Each student spends two hours per week using a computer for computer assisted instruction, instructional management, interactive literature, word processing, publishing, or research. Diplomat is a part of the district's wide area network, allowing every classroom access to the world wide web.
