School Supplies

Welcome to the 2009-2010 School Year at Diplomat Elementary School!  Although the school provides the materials and supplies for basic instructional activities, the optional supply items on this list will allow your child to have an enhanced educational program.  We appreciate your commitment to the education of your child, and with your donation we can provide a great program for the students here at Diplomat Elementary School.

For your convenience, these supplies will be available in the Cafeteria during Open House for you to purchase, if you choose.  These lists have been compiled for each grade level.  Please be aware that individual teachers may have additional requests for supplies.

Important Note:  Diplomat Elementary does not allow rolling backpacks.  We have found that they create a safety hazard on our school campus.  We appreciate your understanding.

Generic Kindergarten Supply List
(Individual teachers may request additional items.)

• 1 box of skinny crayons (16-24 count) - Crayola brand recommended

• 1 box classic original markers - Crayola brand recommended

• 1 bottle of Elmer’s glue (8 oz)

• 2 small glue sticks

• 1 pair of FISKARS scissors –please do not send plastic ones

• 1 pkg of #2 pencils

• 1 watercolor paint set

• 1 black dry erase marker

• 1 plastic pocket folder with prongs

• 1 2-zipper pouch -- must be purchased at Diplomat's School Store
• 1 book bag (please make sure bag is big enough to hold a notebook and a lunch box)

•  1 Diplomat Elementary School Planner – purchase from the school store

•  1 small plastic supply box (pencil box) for the desk

•            6  3-prong pocket folders with metal brads (1 yellow, 1 orange, 1 green, 1 red, 1 blue, 1 purple)

•            1 12-inch ruler

•            1 Dry erase marker (and an old sock to use as an eraser)

•             2 packages of lined index cards

•            ball point pens (at least 1 red)

•            block erasers or pencil cap erasers
